SAYAGATTA SHIBORI, antique Japanese Kimono Haori Jacket, Rinzu Silk and Shibori
An amazing c.1910-50s Japanese Haori jacket in a vibrant magenta Rinzu silk with white shibori (tie-dye).
Longer in length than more modern haoris, this one also features longer sleeves.
The base fabric is woven with a satin/matte design of fans with plums giving it a suble shimmer. Over this is a shibori design (tie/dye) of an ancient Bhuddist symbol, Sayagatta, which represents life and strength.
The lining is equally stunning with a vibrant printed design of plums blossom andother flowers in in turquiose, red and cream.
This is definelty a haori that you could wear inside out to create a new look.
