1960's Ronald Joyce for "After Six"
Ronald Joyce for "After Six" dress
A dress in two parts
This empire line apron style dress from After Six is so lovely. It comes in two layers. The longer under (maxi), layer is a cream open weave slightly slubby textured cotton. (There is small brown mark on the botton seam).
The top layer is again an open weave cotton with a very sweet print incorporating sunflowers, nuts, toadstools, raspberries , rosehips and amongst others. This top layer which is fixed around the bust but is almost like an apron from the empire line seam but has an additional back panel. This is shorter than the underlayer by a good 20". There are two front pockets which are in the contrasting cream cotton.
It ties at the shoulders about 1 1/4" wide and with a 13.5" zip down the centre back with hook and catch at the top.
The dress is in very good condition with a small barely noticeable mark on the bottom front left seam. As the fabric is on the slubby side and not smooth so expect to see some bumps and texture. There is no fraying or seam pulls
Size 46 and 14 on the label but please check measurement below
empire line/under bust: 32"
from top of zip Length: 49"
