VINTAGE BUD VASES, pair with images inspired by Jean-Francois Millet
Pair of elegant bud vases with silver rims
Similar in style to the pieces of Royal Bayreuth pottery, but they are not marked as such.
They feature images depicting paintings by french artist Jean-François Millet (1814 – 1875). He was one of the founders of the Barbizon school and is noted for his paintings of peasant farmers.
The vases show images of The Gleaners and The Angelus, both painted in 1857.
The silver rims both bear London hallmarks which have become a little rubbed. Possibly later half of the 1800s.
