- Cream 'Poppy', Carlton Ware Jam pot with lid. From the 1920/30s, this preserve pot has been hand-painted over a poppy and foliage relief design . 'Australian Design'.
The base of the design is painted cream with the flowers and leaves in dark pink/red and green.

Diameter at widest - 3.5in (8.9cm)
Carlton Ware was produced in Stoke-on Trent, from 1894. The stamp 'Registered Australian Design' was in use from c.1935 to c.1961 and was used to stop designs, registerd in Australia, being copied by the Japanese; an anomaly on a Trade Treaty.
Condition is good. Possibly a small chip under the rim of the top flower but it has been painted in so that it is not easily visible. Please see last photo.
